Rough Cleaning
The rough clean, also sometimes referred to as the initial clean, is generally the first stage of any post-construction cleaning job. It involves the removal of large amounts of trash, debris, dust and dirt. During this stage the cleaning crew is not so much focused on detailed cleaning work as they are on getting the major dirt and debris removed from the building. This stage is often referred to as the most important stage in the post-construction cleaning process by commercial cleaning professionals. In many instances, the rough and final cleaning become one and the same when a contractor decides to have all of the work completed during the same visit.
Final Cleaning
The final cleaning is usually done after the rough clean is completed and before the keys to the building are handed over to ownership. The final clean stage of a post-construction cleaning service involves the detailed cleaning of all of the areas in the facility. This cleaning generally included the wiping down of all hard surfaces, detailed vacuuming and mopping, high and low dusting, stain removal and many other job duties. During this stage, any additional commercial cleaning services that are required at the job site, such as floor stripping and waxing or power washing, are also completed. Upon the completion of the final cleaning, about 90-95% of the construction cleaning is complete and keys are almost ready to be turned over to the new owners.
Touch-up Cleaning
Once all the major construction cleaning work is done, the only thing that is left to do by the cleaning company is a touch-up cleaning. This is the final phase that is most often done about a day or two before the keys are turned over. It involves touching up any sections that may’ve been dirtied by last minute work from other contractors, foot traffic or equipment delivery companies. This post-construction cleaning service will most likely be able to be completed in one day depending on the scope of work. Once this phase of the cleaning is completed, the general contractor or builder of the project usually does a final walk-through with the owners and hands over the keys to them. This signals the completion of the cleaning services.
