Tile and Grout Cleaning Process

The ceramic or porcelain tile floor is pre-treated with a tile and grout cleaning solution at the start of the cleaning service. Once the cleaning solution has had time to dwell on the floor surface, the floor is then cleaned with a slow speed rotary machine that has a tile brush attachment. This allows us to agitate and loosen all of the dirt and grime that is on top of the grout lines and tiles. Once this phase of the cleaning is completed, the whole floor is then cleaned with a hot water extractor tool. The overall cleanliness of the tile flooring will generally look much better once the cleaning is completed and the grout lines have had enough time to dry. Upon the completion of the tile and grout cleaning service, the only thing left for our cleaning team to do is to seal the grout with either the clear coat or color sealer. If the grout lines are still stained and discolored in many areas, it means that dirt penetrated too deep into the grout lines to be cleaned. In this case, Onyx Commercial Cleaning recommends a color sealer to even out all of the grout lines on the floor and get it looking like new again.
Grout clear coat and color sealing services

There are two different types of sealers, a clear coat sealer and a color sealer. The clear coat sealer is a good option if the grout lines are in fairly good condition. On the other hand, a color sealer may be a perfect option when the tile and grout cleaning service is not able to remove a lot of the dirt and soil from the grout. All tile and grout should be cleaned prior to any clear coat or color sealing application. If this important step is skipped and a sealer is applied to the grout lines, it may trap soil and dirt in the grout, making it extremely difficult to remove in the future.
